The Lavender Farm based at Rainford is the UK’s first fully organic essential oils farm and research centre based in the heart of St.Helens countryside on Inglenook Farm surrounded by fields of lavender, essential oil crops and herb gardens.
On the farm you will find the Inglenook Tea Rooms offering delicious light refreshments, including homemade cakes, biscuits and scones.
You can also treat yourself from the range of organic herb teas on sale, luxury hand made vegetable soaps and a variety of essential oil based gifts made to order.
The National Essential Oil Farm and Research Centre and Hygeia School of Aromatherapy are also based on the Farm where various educational and training events take place throughout the year.
Visitors are welcome to walk round the fields and even help with the harvest during the summer months. If you visit on harvesting days, you can see the equipment illustrated in operation and enjoy the beautiful aroma as the oils are produced from the fresh crops. An experienced member of staff will be on hand to explain this procedure and answer any questions you may have about growing and oil extraction. For harvesting dates please contact Phytobotanica on 01744 882908.
The National Wildflower Farm (Landlife) is also based on Inglenook Farm, which showcases wildflowers in their natural environment.
The shop is open seven days a week, for details of forthcoming events please contact Phytobotanica on 01744 882908.
