Competition winners ‘Discover Our Doorstep’!

Amongst the thousands of visitors who poured into the North West for the prestigious North West Masters horseracing event at Haydock Park and Aintree Racecourses on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st November - one lucky winner, Barbara Webster from Hull won a weekend break in conjunction with www.visitsthelens.com, Haydock Park Racecourse and the Thistle Haydock Hotel.

Barbara and her husband were treated to a weekend of spectacular horse racing at Haydock Park and Aintree Racecourse and luxurious accommodation at the 4 star Thistle Haydock. A dining experience for two at the panoramic Park Suite at Haydock was also included in the prize.

Barbara Webster commented, ‘It was such a wonderful surprise to be selected as the winner. My husband and I travelled by train from Hull to attend the weekend racing and had a wonderful time in St.Helens at Haydock Park. The Thistle Haydock Hotel was extremely luxurious and the staff went the extra mile for us. It was really special and something I will always remember.’

The competition was carried out as part of the ‘Discover Your Doorstep’ campaign with Telegraph Travel and VisitEngland, to promote the Borough to visitors.
