The refreshed St.Helens Visitor Guide is launched this week to promote the Borough’s diverse and exciting attractions to both visitors and residents alike. The brochure is updated with stunning imagery to showcase the full range of our fantastic assets – from the well-known attractions and glorious sports, such as Haydock Park Racecourse, Saints and The World of Glass to new developments such as Dream, Darkstar Laser, Inglenook Lavender Farm, and the North West National Golf & Country Club.
The guide includes dedicated sub-sections on Liverpool, Southport and Wirral, while Knowsley and Halton attractions are contained within the main section of the guide. The brochure forms part of the Discover your Doorstep campaign which aims to encourage residents and visitors, within a 90-minute drive time, to explore the wealth of tourism attractions and events in St.Helens. It has gained the full support of the Borough’s Tourism and Leisure Business Network to raise the Town’s profile and highlight the variety of cultural, leisure and sporting events and activities on offer across the Borough.
James Beresford, CEO of VisitEngland endorsed the guide on a recent visit to St.Helens.
Cllr xxx, St.Helens Council said ‘We are delighted to have the support of VisitEngland for St.Helens growing visitor economy, of which the Tourism & Leisure businesses are a vital part of the economic development of the area. The Visitor Guide is a fantastic showcase of the Borough’s visitor offer and demonstrates the growth of the sector with the new developments such as Darkstar Laser, which has already attracted 133,000 visitors in it’s first year of operation.’
The guide also provides the opportunity to enter a freepost prize draw to win exciting prizes such as a short break for two, a special guided tour of Dream and tickets to many of the exciting events taking place throughout the year. All forms will be automatically entered into a quarterly prize draw on a rolling basis from November 2010 and subsequently in March, June and September 2011.
