Newton Beer Festival

Real Ale enthusiasts are in for a real treat.  For the third year the Newton Beer Festival opens its doors and turns on the taps at the Newton Sports Club on Thursday 8th April through to Saturday 10th April.

The Rotary Club of Newton-le-Willows has organised the event, which promises to tantalise the taste buds as well as raising money for local charities. The three-day event will offer over 50 real ales and ciders from across the UK including beers from Northumberland and Somerset and many points in between. Locally, the George Wright Brewery from Rainford, one of the most advanced microbreweries in the UK, will be showcasing its premium ale, Cheeky Pheasant along with their Dream , Pure Blonde and Black Market. As there are a number of Micro breweries within twenty miles of us so the Rotary Club has tried to get a wide selection of their brews.

Organisers have also arranged a free soft drinks bar for drivers and entertainment in the lounge every night, including Irish music from “Potcheen” on Thursday, Rock Music from the “Jammy Dodgers” on Friday. On Saturday Newton-le-Willows own “Rockfield Express” play Rock/Country music as well as “T’Others” playing Lancashire Folk music to go along with the traditional ale in the glasses.

For those who become hungry there will be a Hog Roast available every day.

Opening times are:

Thursday 8th April 7pm-11.30pm
Friday 9th April 7pm-11.30pm
Saturday 10th April 12noon right through to 11.30pm
