New Town Centre Comedy Night
26th April 2010
Laughter will be on the menu at The Counting House, Hardshaw Street with the launch of its new all star Comedy Night at 8pm on Thursday May 6th 2010.
St.Helens will be full of fun and hilarity with a programme of new and established comedy talent. Some of the brightest stand-up comedians are scheduled to appear at the monthly comedy event, which is sure to have everyone laughing out loud.
The monthly event has been organised by Mark Gaskell, Manager at The Counting House, following the venue’s highly successful involvement in the Borough’s annual Comedy Festivals. Mark hopes the monthly comedy club will attract a wide range of comic stars to the Town Centre and generate a growing comedy audience in the Borough.
The first Comedy Night will showcase the talents of Nick Revell and Brendan Riley with Tony Simpson as the comedy compere for the evening. Nick Revell is a comedy circuit regular and has made numerous TV and Radio appearances in Britain, Canada and the United States. He was a regular compere at the Comedy Store, nominated for a Perrier Award and writer of the classic Channel 4 comedy show, “Drop The Dead Donkey”. Nick is all set for the St.Helens Comedy Night with his classic satirical view of life.
Brendan Riley will offer his own style of humour to the proceedings and there is nothing bland or predictable about this stand-up comic. Brendan’s Scouse humour and lively blend of anecdotes, gags and inspired improvisation bring a refreshing blast of cheerful humour to any gig and make him a sought after host and headline act.
Mark commented;” The Comedy Nights at the Counting House will be great for local residents and visitors from across the Northwest to visit St.Helens and enjoy an evening of stand-up comedy. The monthly evening shows will deliver high quality entertainment for all comedy fans. We are sure it will be a big hit.”
So, if you want to exercise your funny bones and develop your laughter lines
make your way to the Counting House for a fun-filled night.
