Tourism awards shortlist announced

The search is on the find the crème de la crème of the local tourism and leisure industry.
Nominations for the 2010 St.Helens Tourism and Leisure Awards have now been announced and the winners will be chosen at a high profile awards ceremony on Friday January 28th 2011 at Haydock Park Racecourse. The event will once again recognise the excellence and achievements of all those businesses, organisations, and individuals who contribute so much to the Borough’s growing tourism industry.

Councillor Barrie Grunewald, Deputy Leader, St.Helens Council added: “Last year’s tourism awards event was attended by over 280 people and was a perfect showcase for what is one of the Borough’s most important and dynamic growth sectors in terms of developing the local economy. The standard of entrants this year has been particularly high, and we are delighted to announce such strong shortlists. Judging is currently underway, and the category winners will be announced at the gala awards ceremony in January 2011”.
