Be a-mazed in St Helens town centre
10th February 2012
A St Helens Council campaign to orchestrate a major bounce back for beleaguered town centre traders gets underway next week with the installation of a giant inflatable maze in Church Square.
It’s set to be a half-term hit with youngsters as the council puts the finishing touches to a comprehensive annual events programme - designed to draw more people into the commercial heart of the town.
The maze will be open from 10am to 5pm between Monday 13 February and Saturday 18 February. Admission is free but height restrictions apply
The fun factor ratchets up next Wednesday (15 February) between 10am and 4pm when kids will also be able to take part in some free face painting in the Church Square Shopping Centre, pick up giveaways and see a top balloon modeler in action.
Town centre visitors can also catch the fantastic “ART.... is here” exhibition at The World of Glass – which runs until Sunday 3 June. It’s the first time that all the paintings from the St. Helens Heritage Collection - which aren't on permanent display – have been assembled for public viewing. Oils and watercolours sit alongside sculptures dating back from 1802 to the present day.
