The 132 acre Houghwood Golf course has USGA specification greens & commands a spectacular panoramic view across the Lancasire Plain to Wales & the sea, making it the ideal setting for a round of golf with your friends, your next society outing, or a corporate golf day.

The clubhouse features a spacious Spikes Bar with delicious home cooked food to welcome you after your game. The first floor Fairways Restaurant, with balcony, serves excellent cuisine and fine wines in an elegant yet informal atmosphere.

Houghwood Golf is a conveniently located venue with stunning scenic views - perfect for escaping from the hustle and bustle of the office for a conference or team away day.

With panoramic views and elegant décor, the Fairways Restaurant can accommodate between 50 to 130 delegates, depending on the room layout. The smaller lounge can accommodate up to 30 delegates, making it ideal for meetings or small, intimate conferences.

For a relaxing corporate day out, Houghwood also offers golf packages with a choice of either 18 or 27 holes Monday to Thursday, or 18 holes Friday to Sunday. Golf packages can be specifically tailored to suit requirements.

Houghwood Golf is also available for private functions and special occasions including wedding receptions, birthdays, christenings, Christmas and New Year Parties.

Road Directions

From the South - Leave M6 at junction 23 onto A580 towards Liverpool. At 3rd set of lights turn right onto A571 to Wigan (Waterside Inn on right). Follow road to Billinge till you reach Jacksons Hardware shop, turn left into Rainford Road. After 1 mile take a right fork (Gores Lane) to a T junction. Turn right into Crank Road, over a hump back bridge and climb hill with golf course on the right. Entrance is located on the right between a stone barn and bungalow.

From the North - Leave M6 at M58 junction 26 follow signs for Wigan to T junction with traffic lights. Turn left to next set of lights (Stag Inn on right). Turn left. After 2 miles Billinge Hospital is on your left. Opposite main entrance turn right into Crank Road. Continue over top of hill and entrance is on the left between bungalow and stone barn.
