Go Active Golf currently has an 18 hole Municipal Golf Course and 12 bay floodlit Power Tee automated Driving Range that offer golfers of all abilities top class facilities and professional coaching.

SHERDLEY PARK GOLF COURSE

Opened in 1974, Sherdley Park Golf Course is one of the top ‘pay and play’ courses in the North West. Due to its popularity we strongly recommend booking up to six days in advance, by calling our Customer Service Desk/ Pro Shop on 01744 813149.

The Customer Service Desk/ Pro Shop offers a selection of golf equipment, refreshments and golf club/ trolley hire.

The undulating 18-hole parkland course measures 5912 yards, par 71 and provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. The Course is open daily from first light until dusk and bookings are accepted from 6.30am midweek and 6.00am at weekends during the summer months.

Season Tickets valid for 12 months providing unlimited golf, no joining fee, no additional charge per round, no booking fee charge and priority 7-day booking (single players cannot reserve tee time) are available for Juniors, Adults and 60 plus customers.

SHERDLEY PARK GOLF DRIVING RANGE

A modern 12 bay driving range, Sherdley Park Driving Range has become only the second venue on Merseyside to offer Power Tee. The new service at Sherdley Park will match the equipment provided by the PGA National Academy at Formby Hall Spa and Golf Resort.

Highly rated by the best teaching professional in the country, Power Tee helps golfers of all abilities to improve their game. Power Tee is very easy to use, simply pour the balls into the hopper and the first ball will be delivered onto the tee. Because balls are replaced automatically players do not need to move or break their grip. Each new ball is replaced quickly at the perfect height allowing the player to build up rhythm and confidence.

The driving range is open from 9.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and from 9.00am until 5.00pm at weekends and on Bank Holidays. There is provision for left handed golfers and the opportunities for new players to get some great help starting up. Clubs are available to hire and anyone joining the Driving Range Membership Scheme will receive at least 10% discount (subject to minimum £15.00 credit purchase).

RESIDENT GOLF CLUBS

Sherdley Park Golf Course currently have two resident golf clubs, Sherdley Park Golf Club and St.Helens Golf Club. Both offer golfers regular competitions and the opportunity to obtain and maintain official handicap certificates.

CAFE IN THE PARK

‘Café in The Park’ the clubhouse offers superb quality food, drinks and snacks at competitive prices with a warm friendly service. Operated by Sherdley Park Golf Club everyone is welcome to enjoy the hospitality on offer in pleasant surroundings before or after their round of golf.

The facility is also available to hire for all small and medium functions (up to 60 guests) offering catering from a buffet style banquet up to a 3-course meal.

PROFESSIONAL

Alan Gibson, our PGA qualified Professional, came to Sherdley Park in 1998. Alan specialises in golf tuition and lessons are available at the driving range or on the course.

Lesson charges at the driving range are currently £17.00 per 30-minute lesson or 6 x 30 minute lessons for £85.00. 1-hour lessons are available at the range for £30.00. 10 hole-playing lessons are available for a charge of £40.00 plus green fee.

Alan also offers a re-gripping service from as little as £3.00 per club.
