St.Helens Festival 2010

Make sure you keep the 3rd and 4th July free in your diary! That’s because you will not want to miss this year’s St.Helens Festival in Sherdley Park.

The two-day event will be bursting with fun and activities for everyone! The fast-paced, high adrenalin Main Arena includes motorbike and horse stunts shows, falconry and dog displays. There will be rugby coaching sessions from Saints RLFC and the popular Children’s World will have a beach, Punch and Judy, donkeys, entertaining children’s shows to keep the little ones busy!

There’ll be a Crafts, Country and Heritage area featuring Wildlife displays including opportunities to see meercats, scorpions and snakes as well as demonstrations of country crafts and woodturning.

In the Creative St.Helens area you can enjoy generous helpings of musical, artistic and theatrical talent including a visual art exhibition, dance groups, music groups, poetry event, theatre and street entertainers. The programme includes performances from Haydock Male Voice Choir, the award-winning UC Crew (street dancing) and the Northern Jazz Orchestra.

For the more active there’s a Youth HUB area featuring Brazilian Soccer Skills, climbing wall, football tournament and urban music performances.

As if that’s not enough, the ’Big Giveaway’ competition, Funfair, Smiley Land Train, Morris Dancing, Classic Cars, Super Jumper, Inflatables, Tiny Tanks, Quads and new for 2010 - miniature steam engines. Truly something for everyone!

It’s a free-to-enter event and a guaranteed great day out. The event starts from 12 noon to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday with the funfair open until 9.00pm
